The constant advance in machine tool efficiency and the growing demand for higher and higher productivity levels require the availability of steels that are highly machineable. A steel is said to be highly machineable when other conditions unchanged, it increases cutting speed, requires a lower cutting force this limiting with tool wear and produces a better surface finish.
